Okapi

Rarity: Rare
Category: Markings

Info:  Okapi is a rare multi-toned marking that puts large patches of stripes in certain areas along the coat of the Kiji or Tally.

Toggle Guide
Marking Rules/Overview

Tier: Tier 2
Color: Stripes darker than but same hue as the base, marking below stripes lighter than but same hue as the base
Tones: One per marking part.

Edges: Hard-Edge-Yes Soft-Edges-Yes  Blended-Edges-Yes   Gradient-Edges-NoTextured-Edges-NoMixed-Edges-Must

Optional Marking Interactions

Okapi + Race
This combination allows for a 'dun' marking to replace the two, but must be a tier 3 marking darker than the base. This means that darker-than-the-base stripes are allowed around the ankles and lower legs, and a dorsal stripe is required (a long stripe down the spine). Additional minor, short striping is allowed around the shoulders and on the top of the head/forehead. This interaction, if used, does not allow for Okapi's lighter undermarking.

Appaloosa + Okapi
Restricts Okapi to Appaloosa's range with the lighter undermarking required and the top marking darking than the base, at Tier 3.

Okapi + Back Stock
Requires the undercolor of Okapi, which can be lighter or darker than the base, while the stripes are cut out from it as holes. Does not allow colored striping. Considered Tier 2 with Okapi's max range and Back Stock's minimum range.

Okapi + Front Stock
Allows Okapi on the front of the legs instead of the back, but otherwise has Okapi's rules.

Okapi + Banded
Allows for single toned dark striping and bands restricted to the legs and/or neck. Cannot have Banded's outline, nor Okapi's undermarking color. Considered Tier 3.
